Camp MoValSpecialized Overnight Retreat Camp for Adults, Union, MO – Adventures in the Community for ages 18 and older, August 3-8, 2025 ~ Cost: $625.  We have a beautiful lake, an archery range, plenty of hiking, and cabin camping. Special needs campers must be able to negotiate camp environment with little or no supervision. Family Camp – June 29-July 3, 2025; Cost: $208 person. Enjoy a self-directed 3-day getaway to enjoy the beauty of nature and take part in some of our activities such as canoeing, campfires, and more. Meramec Adventure CampSpecialized Weeklong Overnight Camp, Steelville, MO – for Youth ages 7+ on the Autism Spectrum, June 22-24, 2025. Cost: $600. Meramec Adventure Ranch offers therapeutic adventure and wilderness programs to help the youth and families confront personal challenges, and discover inner courage and a renewed passion for life.We offers ropes courses, aquatic adventures, camping, climbing, kayaking, biking, team challenges, and more. Returning campers get priority registration, then spots are first come and fill quickly. Joni and Friends, MO Family Retreat,  Specialized Overnight Family Retreat; Rocky Mount, MO (map) – August 5-9, 2025. Cost: $400 per person for ages 4-adult; Free for ages 0-3. Camp Courage, MOSpecialized Adult Mini Camp, Stewartsville, near Kansas City, MO – June 19-22, 2025. Cost: $250. Camp Courage is a 4-day/3-night, all-inclusive summer camping program for adults with special needs, including Down syndrome, birth defects, cognitive delays and high functioning Autism. Campers enjoy fishing, dancing, crafts, bingo, and more.

Camp MITIOGSpecialized Youth and Teen Overnight Camp, Excelsior Springs, near Kansas City, MO – July 14-19, 2025. Contact the camp for pricing. Camp MITIOG is a week-long camp for children ages 8-16 living with spina bifida. Children participate in camping activities including swimming, fishing, canoeing, arts and crafts, nature classes, classes on self-help medical care and evening campfires. Camp MITIOG is held at Lake Doniphan Conference and Retreat Center which is located in Excelsior Springs, Missouri and provides a wheelchair accessible environment.

Heartland CampSpecialized Adult Overnight Mini Camp, Kansas City, MO – Friendship Camp for Adults With Disabilities, August 5-August 8, 2025, Cost: $650. Christian Camp where campers participate in daily activities including Bible study, worship, swimming, crafts, games, carnival, dance party, and a final talent show to end the week.

Special Olympics Summer CampsSpecialized Youth and Adult Overnight Camp, Jefferson City, MO – for all ages. The Gary Brimer Summer Sports Camp is for athletes of Special Olympics to experience high intensity activities including sports, fishing, art, nature, health, and more. Summer 2025 dates TBD – Cost: $300 with scholarships available. Camp Courage Mini Camp is a 3-day camp specifically catered for athletes with low motor skills with a focus on sports such as bocce, basketball and track and field. 2025 dates to be announced – Camp Courage Cost: $150

Next Ed Challenge ProgramSpecialized Young Adult Overnight Adventure, ages 18-30, June 23-27 & July 14-18, 2025 at Oak Hall at UMSL. COST: $1,000 per week. Run by the St. Louis Arc, this overnight summer experience provides young adults an opportunity to challenge their expectations of living on their own. Attendees participate in hands-on learning, interactive group activities, and community recreation. Lighthouse for the Blind Sports Camp – St. Louis, MO – Specialized Overnight Youth Mini-Camp in St. Louis MO, for ages 12-18 with vision impairments, June 20-22, 2025, held at Webster University – FREE! Lighthouse for the Blind’s 2025 Sports Camp includes Ice Hockey, Beepball, Goalball, Aquatic Center, Rock Climbing, and Yoga. Camper MUST be between the ages of 12 and 18 as of June 1, 2025, have a medical and educational diagnosis of a visual impairment, be able to participate in contact sports,and have self-care skills. Only 16 campers will be accepted to participate. The application deadline is May 10, 2025.

Camp GuardianSpecialized Youth and Adult Overnight Camp in St. Louis, MO, for all ages. June 23-27, 2025, at Babler State Park, Outdoor Education Center. Cost: FREE due to generous donations. Campers MUST apply by May 1, 2025 – Your application does not guarantee a slot in camp. Campers are notified of acceptance at camp. Staffed by dedicated volunteers affiliated with the Missouri National Guard, we provide a FREE week of summer overnight camp for individuals of all ages with special needs. Our camp is designed to accommodate a wide range of physical and developmental disabilities that meet the unique needs of each camper, and we are committed to ensuring that each one leaves camp with a sense of belonging. Camper Application HERE

Community Overnight Camps

These programs serve primarily children without disabilities. Services vary by location so talk with the camp about your child’s support needs to ensure they are able to accommodate. 

YMCA Camp LakewoodTraditional Youth and Teen Overnight,  Potosi, MO – for youth ages 8-16. Weeklong Camp Weeks from June 8-August 1, 2025. Cost: Main Camp for ages 8-12 is $980-$1,180; East Camp for ages 13-16 is $775-$995; Additional fees added for specialty topic camps. Mini Camp June 15-18, 2025, June 29-July 2, 2025, and August 3-8, 2025 for $590. Group size is about 15, individualized supports available upon request and meeting with camp staff prior to attending.

Camp Manitowa,Traditional Youth and Teen Overnight Camp, Benton, ILL, camp for youth in 2nd-10th grades – Trips for high school youth in grades 9, 10, & 11. One, two, and three-week sessions available from June 22-August 2, 2025; Cost: $1,400-$3,495 depending on camp selected. Our small property is ideal for helping kids feel safe and comfortable. We serve 80-125 campers each session which allows kids to make friends quickly and become an important person in our overall camp family.

Sherwood Forest, Traditional Youth and Teen Multi-Week Overnight Camp, Lesterville, MO – for youth grades 1-9. Mini Camp (1st and 2nd Graders): June 10-16, 2025, Cost: $35; Explorer Camp (3rd – 5th Graders), June 19-July 2, 2025, Cost: $50; Leadership Camp (6th – 9th Graders), July 8-August 4, 2025, Cost: $75. Sherwood Forest Quest Program serves children from low-income households and underserved communities in Missouri and Illinois, who live at or below the federal poverty line. It is also a requirement that campers themselves have a strong interest in going to camp and campers MUST commit to staying entire camp.

Camp OndessankTraditional Youth and Teen Overnight Camp, Ozark, Illinois – for youth ages 10-16Weeks available from June 1-August 2, 2025, Weeklong Camp Cost: $714-$814; Mini-Camp for ages 8-10, Cost: $424. Discounts available, Early bird pricing from October 1, 2024-February 1, 2025. Camp Ondessonk provides youth the opportunity to experience firsthand the beauty of God’s creation. Located in the Shawnee National Forest of Southern Illinois, Ondessonk’s summer camp programs include traditional camp, mini-camp, adventure camp, and equestrian camp. All of Camp’s programs focus on providing a fun and enriching experience for participants by encouraging them to participate in a wide variety of new and exciting activities.

Camp Sabra, Traditional Youth and Teen Overnight Camp, Lake Ozark, MO – for youth entering 3rd-10th grades. One, two, and four-week sessions from June 8-July 31, 2025. Cost: $1,519-$6,850 depending on week selected. Camp Sabra is a premier Missouri Jewish camp that fosters life-long friendships, Jewish identity, and encourages social and physical growth.

Camp Ben Frankel, Traditional Youth and Teen Overnight Camp, Belleville, ILL – for youth in grades 1-11. Multiple weeks available from Jun 22-August  1, 2025. Cost: $995 (5-days) to $8,645 (6-weeks). Camp Ben Frankel is an inclusive, pluralist Jewish community. We welcome campers from all Jewish backgrounds. We nurture a connection to Israel and impart the beauty, meaningfulness, and relevance of Judaism and Hebrew into our campers’ everyday lives. All are welcome at CBF including campers with disabilities, LGBTQ+, Jews of Color, immigrant families, Russian speaking Jewish families, and interfaith families.

Girl Scout CampTraditional Youth and Teen Overnight and Day Camps for girls in grades 1-12; Leadership program for ages 14 and older. Weeks in May, June, & July, 2025 at our camp properties in Barnhart and Troy, MO. Cost varies by camp. Scouts BSA, Traditional Youth and Teen Overnight Camps for ages 6-20. Cost: $200-$425 with early bird discounts; Camp weeks in June and July, 2025. Locations at Scout owned camps in Missouri and Illinois. Scouting offers overnight camps for boys and girls ages 6-20. In addition to traditional summer camps, Scouts BSA offers specialty camps in STEM, High Adventure, Horsemanship, Eagle Award Camps, and more. If you don’t belong to a troop, sign up as a provisional member to be added to a group. Camp Little Giant, Carbondale, IL: Specialized Weekend Camp, for youth ages 13+ & AdultsJuly 25-27, 2025. Cost: $50; Camp is located at the beautiful SIUE Touch of Nature Center in Edwardsville, Illinois. Camp Little Giant has served campers with disabilities since 1952. It was the first camp of its kind in the nation, the first camp accredited by the American Camp Association, and ultimately paved the way for the Special Olympics. From swimming and environmental education to boating, sports, games, outdoor education, and arts and crafts, every week promises memorable opportunities for growth and fun.

Camp Jump Start Autism Adventure – Imperial, MO – Specialized Parent-Child Day Camp, for ages 4-11. Weeks available June 9-July 31, 2025 at Living Well Village, 3602 Lions Den Road, Imperial MO 63052. Camp cost is donation-based: Families pay what they can, so no family is deterred by cost. Camp Jump Start® Autism Adventure is a summer day camp designed for children ages 4-11 with an Autism diagnosis and their legal guardians. providing a wonderful opportunity to connect with other families in the community.  Meet other families who share similar experiences, engage in fun activities within a safe and supportive environment, and build a network of support and understanding. Our beautiful campground known as the Living Well Village just south of St. Louis and only 5 miles from highways 141 and 21 (Tesson Ferry Road).

Harbor Unlimited Camp, Camp Lighthouse – Wright City, MO – Specialized Family Day Camp: May 24-27, 2025 at StrongTower Ranch, 63390. Cost: $175 for camper with a disability and a sliding scale fee for each family member or caregiver attending to support the camper. LifeBridge Partnership Summer Camp – St. Louis and St. Charles, MO – Specialized Youth Day Camp,  – for ages 8-20. Weeks listed below. Cost is $150. Our camps provide youth with disabilities who are age 8-18 (up to 21 if still in school) opportunities to participate in a variety of activities, field trips, and fun. Camp Circle Star – Hillsboro, MO – Specialized Youth Day Camp with 2 Adult weeks: Youth Cost: $400 per week plus optional $50 fee per week for transportation to camp from our Ballwin office. 4-day adult week in May is $320 plus $40 transportation fee. Our campers with autism need specialized camping experiences, so we provide 1:1 supervision for everyone. We Rock the Spectrum Gym – Fenton, MO – Specialized Youth Day Camp, for ages 5-11. Camp weeks from June 2-August 15, 2025. Weekly fee is $379 or daily fee of $79 with $20 fee for 1:1 services. Our gym is a place for children of all ability levels to play and grow together. As the only kid’s gym that offers an inclusive philosophy, we have found all children can benefit from our uniquely designed sensory equipment that is specifically designed to aid children with sensory processing disorders.

STAGES St. Louis Performing Arts Summer Production Camp – Chesterfield, MO – Specialized Tween, Teen, Adult Half-Day Theater Camp, all ages. 2 week half day camp, Mon-Fri, June 9-20, 2025 from 1-4pm, Cost: $325. Summer Production:This particular opportunity is designed for campers living with physical, cognitive, or developmental disabilities to perform a fully staged musical theatre production. In just two weeks, campers will work together to learn songs, scenes, and choreography from a musical while enjoying daily activities like acting games and group outings to improve confidence and assist in developing social skills. ATA allows musical theatre to be accessible to performers of all ages and abilities in a safe and supportive environment.

TASK (Team Activities for Special Kids) – Fenton, MO – Specialized Youth and Teen Day Camp, Task & Task-CBC Camp for youth ages 5-17, and adult day camp for ages 19 and older. Weeks in June and July. The J: Jewish Community Center – Creve Coeur and Chesterfield, MO – Traditional Day Camp with Services for Disabilities,  – Youth in grades K-7, weeks from June 2-August 1, 2025. Cost: $330-$355 per week. Locations: Creve Coeur and Chesterfield. Every youth is welcome at the J and our camps feature the activities kids love most like swimming, sports, gymnastics and arts. Exceptional Equestrian – Washington, MO – Specialized Youth Horse Camp,  – for ages 6-15, Saddle UP Camp for new riders is June 2-6 & June 16-20, 2025; Giddy UP camp is for experienced riders, June 9-13 and June 23-27, 2025. Cost: $350 per week. Full days from 9:00 am-3:00 pm Mon-Fri. Our summer programs offer a variety of activities and learning experiences with horses and horseback riding.

Miriam Learning Center Academic Support Camps – St. Louis, MO – Specialized Academic Youth Day Camp for youth in grades K-12. Three-Week sessions, June 9-27, 2025 and July 7-25, 2025. Our academic and therapeutic summer camps provide individualized instruction, research-based interventions, and certified/licensed, professionals will ensure your child builds confidence and skills in reading, writing, speech or social/emotional development. St. Louis Arc Neighborhood Experiences – St. Louis, MO – Specialized Teen Program for ages 13-20, Dates: June 9-August 1, 2025 ~ Cost: $300. Neighborhood Experiences is an eight-week summer pre-employment training project that supports youth ages 13-20 with disabilities living in St. Louis City and St. Louis County (not open to St. Charles County Residents). Leaps and Bounds – St Peters, MO – Therapeutic Youth Day Camp and Summer Programs for ages 3-14: Our therapeutic day camps for ages 5-12 are a great option for children who struggle in large, traditional camp programs. They are week-long learning enrichment programs that incorporate therapeutic activities to address your child’s needs and include lessons incorporating reading, science, and social studies. Starkloff Institute Dream Big Summer Career Camp – St. Louis, MO: Specialized Youth Day Camp for ages 11-21. Middle School Camps (ages 11-14): June 9-13, 2025 & July 7-11, 2025; High School Camps (ages 14-21): six-day camps.June 20+23-28, 2025 & July 18+21-25, 2025. Cost: $500 per week. The Dream Big program empowers college and technical school-bound youth with disabilities to dream big about their future. Camp Independence – St. Louis, MO:Specialized Day camp for Youth with Cerebral Palsy for ages 7-18June 9–13, June 16–20, June 23–27, July 7–11, July 14–18, July 21–25, 2025, TIME: 9:00 am to 4:00 pm; LOCATION: Webster Groves Recreation Complex, 33 E. Glendale, Webster, MO. Camp activities include adaptive basketball, dance, soccer, martial arts, baseball, swimming, yoga, and more. Camp Ausome – St. Louis, MO: Specialized Youth Day Camp for children with autism ages 6-11. July 21-25, 2025. Cost: $175.The Freddie Ford Family Foundation sponsors a week of day camp designed specifically to meet individual needs of the campers with staff who understand autism. United Services Therapy Summer Camp, St. Charles, MO: Specialized 2-hour therapy camps for children ages 2-5. June 2-5, 2025 motor skills camp & sensory play with food; June 9-12, 2025 speech camp and vocabulary camp. Cost: $200 per session. Our OT’s and Speech Pathologists help your child learn needed skills while having fun this summer (these camps are not Recreation Council voucher eligible). Train Your Brain, Wash U OT Services – St. Louis, MO & Washington, MO: Specialized Youth Half Day Camp for youth in grades 3-8. 2025 Dates: Camps for youth who have completed grades 3, 4, 5 on June 23-27, July 21-25, July 28-August 1 at Wash U in St. Louis, (map), and August 4-8 at YMCA in Washington, MO (map). Camp for youth completed with grades 6, 7 & 8 on July 28-August 1 at Wash U in St. Louis (map). Cost: $125 per session. Train Your Brain is a cognitive skills training program that teaches children and adolescents how to think through daily problems. Youth who have poor attention, planning, and organization skills work on project skills like planning, goal setting, organizing, and time management with brain games and STEM projects. At the end of the week, children will take home a planning kit and workbook that they can use at home.

iCan Bike Camp, – Fulton, MO: Specialized Learn to Bike Day Camp: June 16-20, 2025 at YMCA of Callaway County 1715 Wood Street Fulton, MO 65251. iCan Bike programs are for people with disabilities ages eight and up who want to learn to ride a 2-wheel bike. The vast majority of people with disabilities never have the experience of independently riding a conventional two-wheel bicycle during their lifetime. Next Ed Challenge – St. Louis, MO – Specialized Young Adult Day Adventure, for ages 18-30: August 4-8 & August 11-5 , 2025 at an Air BnB near Forest Park. COST: $500 per week. TREEHouse Summer Horse Camp, – No camp in summer 2025 due to construction – Wentville, MO – Specialized Day Camp for ages 6 and older, 4 hours per day. Check back with us in summer 2026 for our small group camp for up to four individuals (ages six and up) each day for a full week. Campers practice horsemanship and riding skills along with nature-oriented activities and crafts.

St. Louis COUNTY Parks-Camp Queeny, – St. Louis, MO – Traditional Day Camp for ages 5-12: Weekly from June 2-August, 8, 2025. Cost $120 per week. Camp is held at the Greensfelder Recreation Center in Queeny Park in West County on Weidman Road. Specialty fishing camps for $160 per week. Specialty art and science camps for $360 per week.

Boys and Girls Club, Summer Blast Day Camp ~ St. Charles, MO – Traditional Day Camp, for ages 6-18, weekly from June 2-August 8, 2025, Cost: $145 per week + $35 membership fee, family and early bird discounts available. Our daytime Summer Camp gives youth a summer to remember filled with friends, outside adventures, and new discoveries. Boys & Girls Club Summer Day Camp ~ St. Louis, MO & BEthalto, ILL – Traditional Day Camp for ages 6-18.  5 locations in the St. Louis Metro area, weekly from June 9-August 1, 2025 – Cost: $250-$275 by location selected. Bethalto, ILL Camp: Monthly sessions in June and July, 2025 – Cost: $600. Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater St. Louis offers one of the most affordable, safe, and quality summer day camp programs in the Bi-State region. Scouts BSA: – St. Louis & St. Charles, MO – Traditional Youth Day Camp for boys and girls entering grades K-5 with weeks in June and July, 2025. Cost: $75-$125. Camp locations available in St. Louis, St. Charles, and Illinois. Day camps are a great place to have fun, build memories, learn new skills/hobbies in a safe, educational, environment. Healthy, fun outdoor activities such as archery, BB guns, slingshots, fishing, hiking, STEM, and games for girls and boys, Scouts and non-Scouts alike. Vetta Sports, –  St. Louis & St. Charles – Traditional Youth Day Camp, for ages 5-12 weekly from May 27- August 15, 2025 at 5 different location in the metro area. Cost: $200-$260 per week depending on location selected, plus $40 membership fee; early bird discounts and daily rates are available.Choose from soccer, racquetball, pickleball, and hockey camps. We integrate sports with traditional camp activities guaranteed to keep your child active.

Painted Pot Summer Art Camp – O’Fallon, MO – Traditional half day Youth Day Camp, for ages 6-13. Weeks from June 16-August 8, 2025. Let your child freely & creatively explore a variety of different artistic media, and let their imagination run wild with color, texture & technique. Art Projects will be different each day including ceramics, glass fusing, pottery wheel, clay, drawing, painting, collage, and sculpting. Camps run Mondays – Fridays from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm. Camp Fee Per Session: $225.00

College for Kids, – St. Charles, MO – Traditional Youth Day Camp with half day sessions for ages 5-14. Registration opens on Wednesday, January 22, 2025. Camps run from June 2 – August 8, 2025. Held at St. Charles Community College in June, July, and August, 2024. Learning and having fun go hand-in-hand this summer at St. Charles Community College’s College for All Kids (CFAK) camps. The College for All Kids summer camps are now enrolling for more than 150 academic enrichment and sports camps. Cost varies by camp selected.

Laumeier Sculpture Garden Art Camps – St. Louis, MO: Traditional Youth and Teen Day Camp for youth ages through age 18. 2025. Cost varies by camp. Missouri Disability Water Ski Association (MDWSA)  July 25-26, 2025 at Creve Coeur Park, 13725 Marine Ave, Maryland Heights, MO 63043. Cast for Kids Fishing ProgramKemp Lake near Leasburg, MO 65535 (map), June 14, 2025. This private nature game preserve destination for ALL. Cast for Kids Fishing Program is FREE for kids with varying disabilities and their families.
