Recreation Council PickleBall Tournament Fundraiser, Saturday, May 18 from 10am-1pm at CNP, St. Charles, MO. Join the Recreation Council for a fabulous day of Pickleball fun while raising money to send a child to summer camp. Men and women of all skill levels are welcome. Recreational and competitive sections, $10 CNP food/drink gift card, and medals for winners in each skill level bracket. Cost: $100 per team of 2 players. That’s only $50 per person. Recreation Council RAFFLE TICKETS – SPRING 2024: The Recreation Council is raising funds to provide scholarships for people to attend camp this summer. Choose from 5 wonderful options: Wine, Liquor, Pickleball, Whitey Herzog Collage, and Vintage Vinyl Baskets. 1-9 tickets=$1 per ticket; 15 tickets=$10; 30 tickets=$20.  Order Tickets HERE

Cast for Kids Fishing Program: SAVE THE DATEKemp Lake – a private nature game preserve destination for ALL. Cast for Kids Fishing Program  is free for kids with varying disabilities and their families July 13, 2024, time to be determined. Kids will be provided with fishing poles and tackle boxes.  Located 45 minutes from St. Louis near Leasburg, Missouri. Registration is required and must have a reservation to access the property. Water Skiing Signups now open for May 28th in Lake St. Louis (SCC): READY…SET… GO!!! It’s here ALREADY – Time to SIGN UP for the first MDWSA event of 2024. We are EXCITED and ready to welcome all volunteers and participants. We’ve cleaned out the MDWSA trailer, checked ropes, and made sure all of the equipment was 100% ready. Join us on Tuesday, May 28, at Jefferson Point in Lake St. Louis. We have morning and afternoon ski slots available and need volunteers throughout the day. FREE Virtual Cooking Classes: June 12, 2024: Kelly’s Kitchen is sponsoring an accessible and inclusive cooking class series for individuals with disabilities. Our classes are FREE and open to all skill levels, and each cooking class lasts around 90 – 120 minutes. Class time is 3:30 – 5:00 Central Time. Register once, and you are signed up for all the classes: April 24, 2024 = Creamy Grape Salad and Chicken Salad and June 12, 2024 = Easy Fruit Salad with Tuna and Cheese Sandwich. Boxing Exhibition (SCC), Saturday, May 4 from 1-3pm at The Boxing Therapy, 1227 North 2nd Street, St. Charles, MO 63301. Come watch these special needs boxers sparring and showing you their athletic skills. Information about the Boxing Therapy

Free Trolley Rides (SCC): ALL ABOARD! Starting on Friday, May 3, all are invited to “take the loop.” The Trolley operates from 11am to 7pm on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays through December 24. The 50-minute loop will include 13 stops, from the St. Charles Convention Center to the Bass Pro Shop, and is completely FREE. Come out to see St. Charles. Information

Foundry Arts Center First Friday (SCC), May 3 from 5-8pm at Foundry Arts Centre in Historic St. Charles, MO. This month we feature the “BAKE” Sale, an arts & crafts fair specifically for items made with heat and/or fire, including ceramics, glass, metalworking, encaustics, and baked goods. Information

August Plein Air Art Festival (SCC), now through May 4. The public is invited to observe art unfolding before their eyes each day at “paint-out” events in a variety of locations from local wineries to historic sites, with special days in surrounding towns. Over 100 artists will be scattered about the small towns of Defiance, New Melle, and Augusta, capturing and recreating the rolling hills of wine country, the Missouri River bluff, prosperous farmland, the Katy Trail and historic structures. Main Street in Bloom (SCC), Saturday, May 4 & Sunday, May 5 on Main Street in Historic St. Charles, MO. Flowing ribbons and floral wreathes will adorn the lamp posts while merchants will be decorating with flowers, and beautiful displays to celebrate spring. Enjoy a parade at 1:30 PM each day and a Maypole Dance at 2:00 PM.  Information

Beale Street Concert Series Opening Night (SCC), Wednesday, May 8 from 6-8pm at The Streets of St. Charles, 1520 South 5th Street, 63303. Bring your lawn chair for a live local musical entertainment by Trixie Delight. No outside food or beverages allowed. Event repeats all summer on the 2nd Wednesday each month with different bands.
