“Roll and Stroll” on the Busch Greenway in St. Charles: The easy and paved path is mostly accessible with one patch of steeper than 1:12 grade. Bring your camera and binoculars to search for birds, a filled water bottle, and a snack for the trail. The hike is 1.5 miles, but you can turn back anytime.
The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) and the Recreation Council of Greater St. Louis encourage you to seek out this treasure of a trail that connects to the Katy Trail. The Busch Greenway can be found within the University of Missouri Research Park in St. Charles. Participants wheel along a one-mile stretch of the greenway, which is paved, level and mostly shaded by trees. At the end of the mile, riders have the option of continuing along the Katy Trail as far as they wish or turn back to the starting point. Riders should note that while also flat, the Katy Trail’s surface is crushed limestone. MDC has specialty track chairs available on request for their programs to provide an all-terrain, fully accessible experience. Photos of Busch Greenway Trail ~ Link to Map
